Who is Blessed Emilina?
Blessed Emilina Bio
Blessed Emilina, or St. Emilina, is the patron Saint of single lay women. Born in 12th century France, Blessed Emilina tried to join a religious order but was rejected. She didn't let this stop her, though. For the remainder of her life, she lived as a single lay woman in a small hut next to the monastery that rejected her, and dedicated her life to extreme fasting, prayer, and penance. She was gifted with the charism of prophecy, and word of her holiness traveled far and wide, causing pilgrims from other countries to seek her out to pray for them and offer prophecies from the Lord.
