About Blessed Emilina
Blessed Emilina is a new ministry in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for single Catholic women. Founded in 2025 by lay woman Aurora M Pomales, Blessed Emilina's mission is to bring single Catholic women of any age or state of life into closer relationship with Christ through formation, community, and service. Blessed Emilina offers local small groups for single Catholic women, as well as semi regular events and retreats.
Meet our Founder!
Aurora M Pomales is a cradle Catholic from Philadelphia, PA. She was born into a devoutly Catholic Puerto Rican family in North Philadelphia, and is the youngest of four children.
After going through twelve years of Catholic schooling and receiving all of her sacraments, Aurora fell away from the faith in her early 20s. She returned to the faith after the death of her beloved grandmother in 2020, and the Holy Spirit inspired her to create Blessed Emilina after she experienced the loneliness of being a single lay Catholic woman.
Aurora now works full time as a missionary for the Catholic Church, and works on Blessed Emilina in her free time. When she's not working her full time job, or running Blessed Emilina, you can find her with her family, teaching PREP classes at her parish, or reading a good book.
